DT 8H and the height issue

While some of their bikes list a maximum height of 6'4" others lists 6'2", including the 8H that's catching my attention. I'm 6'1", 32" inseam, but I don't want any surprises with the height.

What's the experience of tall riders with this bike?

The new 09s have a wider, stronger seatpost, so it can be raised higher, and therefore i think rider height is no longer an issue. but call and confirm this.

I did not find the 8H adjustable enough for my height, and I am only 6' 0", 32" inseam. Yan is taller than me and he says it fits him fine. Maybe I just have long feet.

When I had the seat post at min. insertion, I had too much bend in my knee. I tried to get used to it but it just wasn't right for me. The bike is nice for the price but it just didn't quite seem worth it to fuss with modded/home made seatposts.

I hate to say it but: YMMV.

Edit to say this was a 2008 model.
