Its cold nowadays how is your bike riding, as for me, as long as there are no snow in the road nothing can stop me from riding my Pinarello bike

Hot, hot and damn hot! Actually, the wind turned at some point last night and is now coming from the south. That will start to cool things off a bit.

Snow. snow and more snow. That's how it is treating me. I'm stuck on the rollers until April if we are lucky. I'm into ski season up here.

The weather in Iowa is GREAT!!! Today was a high of 63...a bit cloudy and windy, but darn nice for this time of year. Spitting rain on the ride in this morning, but plenty warm.

Last couple of week it has been quite cold (had to buy stuff to put on my freezing ears) and I have been caught under the a tremendous rain once. I did have my waterproof gear expect for the shoes. Sadly they were soaked like hell. I was on my way to a dance class and all through the class every time I made a step water was pouring out of my shoes (they absorbed water like sponge - luckily they are all dried up and smell like rotten now) .
However, with the expection of a really strong wind today, since last we the weather has much warmed up. Feels great to bike again.
Mild and mild- however, it's expected to get cold this weekend.
Captain, whereabouts is Matheson? I'm guessing it's northern ontario, judging by the snowy weather you described.

Matheson is a little town in Northern Ontario. It's near Timmins and 6.5 hours north of Toronto. We get two seasons here and they are winter and construction. :D
Actually it really isn't that bad. We at least get decent winters which we can do something with rather than just being chilled to the bone with damp wet weather. We get great snow here and the ski trails are to die for.
Where are you located?
It's actually really warm up north here in the U.S. It's usually around 30 some degrees, but recently it has been around 55 or so! I love it. Great cycling weather. :D

It's been unbelievably warm here in Missouri too. Last December it never got above 20F. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 68! And I just put new tires on tonight. Hmmm... I wonder what I'll do tomorrow? :D

We were lucky, had a record breaking warm November, ave temp. was +1.9C (34F), and no snow. We just got a bit of snow a few days ago, enough for me to put the bike away, as they've got the salt and sand out, and the side streets are pretty slippery. I've been out skiing once and we're expecting more of a dump of snow tonight. Temps going to about -16C (2F).

We picked up another 6" of snow today, and expect a few more inches tonite. I spent a few mintues riding around in the new powder, but no serious rides this winter, too cold!
Being an island nation the weather is unpredictable. Has been mild for time of year, but ride in this morning was cold and wet, with a light wind off the North Sea. Supposed to be drier later.
Now turning to local news............................

Right down here on the south coast it's not a light wind! Extremely blustery, not real rain but wet air (if you catch my drift), and pretty much really unpleasant.
I got the train this morning... :( Although the wind should give me a kick *** ride home tonight! :)

If you ever visited the Netherlands, you wouldn't ask. ;)
We live about 15 km from the North Sea. Very short days, especially because of the clouds that are around morning and evening. Makes finding riding time a challenge.
The sun shines here all day every day. It seldom, however, reaches the ground.
Cheers...Gary
Howling for the South East, the weather is poo pants and changable.
Got wet legs and soaking bum...brrrrr, it's chilly !

Very nice here in Cincinnati. Warmer and sunnier then usual. Temps today may reach 70! Lovin it so far.
Glorious weather here in the Florida panhandle. It's been mid-60s to mid-70s w/o appreciable precipitation for weeks now. Temp may get down to 60 this weekend though--brrrr!:D

Hey JuJu, where in FL? I'm down the coast further in Sarasota.
Weather for the last 3 or 4 weeks has been spectacular. Perfect cycling temps. High's near 80, low's at night in the 60's, and absolutely no precipitation! Humidity is about 70%, which is very dry for us, usually in July and Aug it's 110% (no kidding!)
Been going for a short ride every morning before work. Mostly about 45 mins to a hour, depending on what time I actually stumble out of bed. Longer rides on the weekends.

Like Gary said; short days, cold rain and 5 BF southwest wind, AND I HAVE TO WORK OUTSIDE, GRRR
"Near record" high temps in Missouri--in the 60's F.--and am I cycling? No. I'm sitting in front of one of those old-fashioned CRT computer displays, typing tiny little white letters on a blue background.

I got an e-mail from Norway yesterday. About 4C over there, and they are under a metre of snow.
Meanwhile back here it's actually rained. Cleaning my bike always does that at this time of year. Of course, I'm now convinced that nothing in the entire world can make it rain during winter (or at least, nothing has in the last two years).

I know that's why I am really taking advantage of riding my bike, coz, once it starts snowing here in Toronto, it not ganna let up until April

Montreal. I seemed to remember Matheson being near Timmins (on a map).It was really mild here today, about 10C (50 F) but FOGGY. Went for a ride- near the waterfront it was a really spectacular sight. I wish someone had taken a photo of us cycling against the background of the water- it would have looked like we were suspended in midair. It's real Het Volk conditions these days!

Don't get mad at me.
The whole U.S. (well, almost) is absolutely perfect cycling weather, from Atlanta to Chigoco to Noo Yawk, and Flarada 2.

"It's melting". All the snow we had is melting here in Matheson. We still have quite a bit on the ground but the roads are bare again albeit they are still a tad slippery for riding. I can't get over how warm it is here today. It feels like spring, and I wish it was.
On the other hand I know that we are still in for a long winter and I wish we could just get to it instead of all this inbetween stuff that doesn't allow us to do anything worthwhile outside. It's to cold or snowy for biking but there is not enough snow to groom the ski trails yet. So for now I will stick to riding the rollers and dreaming of better days ahead.

I know exactly what you mean, Cap'n! We had a small snowfall a week or so ago, just enough to screw up biking, and I got out on the skiis once, but there wasn't very much snow, really.
Today though, we got about 10-15cm, so I think we're into winter for good 'til spring, and the skiing (and trainer) season will start in earnest.

We DID have a record today, the temp hit 18C (about 65F) early this morning, but it was WINDY- from the WSW at 60 kmh, gusting up to 80 in some places! The temp has been dropping steadily since, and that cold weather out Winnipeg way is about to get here- tomorrow it's supposed to be about 2C (about 37F). SO much for that!

Well, what a day it was here in little old Matheson. We had hurricane type winds which have done a ton of damage to this little place. My neighbours garage is gone my roof has been deshingled and my other neighbour had his portable garage end up about three doors down. It was one of those aluminum framed structures with the vinyl shell. I was sitting with my wife at breakfast when all of a sudden we see it come flying at our patio door. We were lucky it didn't come through. I ran outside and with the help of another person we tied it down to a fence so that it couldn't take off again. It is still there now as the winds are still high.
We had a power outage for 6 hours as well which didn't help matters much either. Thankfully we have a wood stove so we could keep the house warm for the baby.
I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Sorry about your roof, Cap'n! Hope it was insured.
Good for you tieing down the portable garage before it did a lot of damage to something else.
I saw a news story about those storms. It was bad also in the Sudbury area. We had the same strong winds- there were some power failures, but not at our place, phew!
Today it's much colder, sunny, but still above normal temp- 5C.

Clear and cold today and happy about it. The winds are down to nothing right now and it is beautiful -9 degrees outside. Just getting ready to take the little one for a walk.
Will help the neighbour move his garage back tomorrow.

This is to give you all an idea of how hot and humid it is around here:
Last night I was riding home at around 11.20pm (when the sun was well and truly gone) from a barbecue at a friend's place. I saw a bus with fogged up windows, not because it was cold outside, but because the air conditioning inside the bus was so much cooler than the temperature outside.
Tomorrow I want two things to happen:
1. rain.
2. a big wind from the south.

Hey, psyklnut, I'm all the way at the west end of the panhandle--Pensacola--"the western gate to the sunshine state."
A little farther north than you, but we've been getting the same cycle-licious weather. They say it's about to turn cold--oooh, maybe it'll get down in the 50s!

Pretty hot here in So Cal. Seems more like June than December. Low tonight expected to be 50F and sunny tomorrow with a high of 79F.
Temps here have rocketed up to somewhere just below freezing. It's a nice break, although we really have had a terrific winter so far. Too bad that it's gonna be here till the end of April!
While I normally abhor cycling on snowy streets, I had to take my newly completed LWB bent out and test ride it last night. It was very kewl!
My SWB is sitting here beside me in the trainer. I really like that the snow doesn't come off the rear tire and make a snow man out of me.
Going to Memphis in a week. My wife is there and tells me the weather is perfect for cycling. Now if only I can find a bent to ride while I'm there!!

What part of Canada are you from
I'm in Montreal, where today it's nice and sunny- but COLD. That cold air that's been plaguing the prairies has arrived here and it's 1 Celsius.
However, there is still no snow, and according to environment canada, we are expected to get the first significant snow on monday or tuesday.
A bit of weather trivia:
Fog in august= snowy winter
fog in January= wet spring
fog in February= frost in may
Also, if onion skins are thick and tough, it indicates a snowy winter ahead. Thinner onion skins indicate a milder winter.

A series of snowstorms has been hitting here, Spokane WA, with chinook winds in between, causing some of it to melt a bit. I'll keep riding though, the streets clear fairly quickly and I have a bike set up with studded tires. If it gets too bad I can cross-country ski out my back door

Pat
We were supposed to get some snow overnight, the first significant fall of the season, but it skipped just to the south and east. However, it hit the mountainous eastern townships where the ski operators have been fretting.

Today was one of the most beautiful days I've seen in a very long time. I went out this morning with a riding buddy for an 81 km [50 mi] ride. It was nippy at first -- around freezing --and though we headed out into a 15 km/h headwind, the sky was clear and the sun was shining. Despite our speed [@ 30 km/h cruise], the wind and the cool air, I felt perfectly warm.
In fact, once we came about in Senneville [we road up through Macdonald College, took L'Anse a L'Orme north to Gouin Boulevard and then came around the western end of the island through Senneville], the wind, which was now behind us, came up to about 25 km/h. The air temperature had risen to about 5C, and the sun was high in the sky [well, about as high as a 6:00 pm sun on a July day].
By now I was downright overdressed, and I felt damp, but the wind was behind us and the sun was warm and I simply didn't care a whit. If there had been snow on the ground, this would have been a great day for cross country skiing. As it was, and considering that I'm a cyclist first, it was perfect.
Tomorrow, the weather is going to be just as fine.
How is the weather treating me? Considering that the semester ended last week and that, aside from some grading, I'm free as a bird, I'd say just fine, than you... just fine.

Our snow is all gone here in Northern Ontario. It is unbelievable for this time of year. We may just end up having a green Christmas after all. Usually we have been skiing for a month or more but it has been so warm that it scares me to think of what is coming in January. We are gonna pay for this:D

Well, in Winnipeg the weather has warmed up again!
We were above freezing yesterday and while it went down last night, is still above normal for this time of year. There is enough snow around though, with our last dump, to make most cycling impractical.
Maybe there is something to this global warming!
