that is when a cycling cap worn beneath a helmet is handy. it lets the rider have a visor to flip around to deflect the flying ice!

I love this weather. I just got back from riding up to the Griffith Observatory. It was dry though.

The one day I don't listen to the weather dude, he's right! Rained a little bit this morning so figured the afternoon would be ok since I haven't seen anymore rain. I get one mile in hsorts and a t-shirt then it starts pouring. I wait under a tree for about 20 minutes, only gets harder. I wait for a soft pour then head home. Yup, had to clean the bike....again!:(........Few minutes later, heavy hail!

Had to check the date of the original post.. we've got some clouds rolling in over the water here but it's been pretty clear all day.

There was a tornado at March Air Force Base, just up the hill from me. At least, that's what we heard. Weird. It's been something like a 40 degree high-temperature swing from Sunday to today. That doesn't happen very often.

Plenty of lightning in my area with downpours in spots. Snow and hail in Baldwin Park...which was weird. Mud slides and mud flows in some areas. Snow in the local mountains. No wind or a slight breeze and then big gusts...lol. Weird weather all around SoCal.

At lunch today I went outside with my friends and we had fun in the rain. We stood by the (flooded) side of the road and waited until big 'ol trucks came and splashed us.

We got like 6 inches of rain in 20 minutes...wicked....

Yeah, my math teacher was pissed when I came into the class looking like I had just gotten out of a pool.

Is it going to rain on Saturday? I'm going to Disneyland on Saturday...

Your first hail storm experience Alice? Common back east, but most surprising in LA, that's for sure. On my way to Hollywood from Woodland Hills at 4:30 Thursday I drove through a good old fashioned thunderstorm with thunder and lightning, hail and rain. Love that smell! Radio was reporting all the other severe weather reports, including some funnel clouds that toppled a few train cars and knocked a few passenger cars around. Wild.

I got caught in the rain yesterday about 4:00 p.m. Well we call it rain in San Diego. It was really more of a drizzle.

Yesterday just had to be the one day i decided to drive to work and get hammered unexpectedly by huge raindrops and hail on the drive home. It was so loud that i could bearly hear the radio.

If there's anything that's good is that the hail actually did kinda scrub all the bug/bird crap off my car. :D

Yay I managed to pedal this morning without getting rained on.
