View Full Version : My Replacement Bike

As some of you know I had a high-speed shimmy during the Berkeley Hills Road Race, held on Mother's Day. My LBS told me that the frame was still under warranty, and the Orbea factory was shipping out a 2008 frame. I picked it up today. It weighs 16.6 lbs. Ride report to follow.

Last weekend I was riding along with a guy on an Orbea and I couldn't stop staring at all those sexy curves.

Was there damage to the Orca frame? Manufacturer defect?
ĄCabrona! No lo puedo creer. Estoy un poco celoso. Sólo tengo un pedacito de mierda bici de Pedal Force.
Felicidades enhorabuena.

I thought there was some rule against posting sexually suggestive photos on this forum. None the less, I'm glad you did.
I need a moment alone now.

That Diva was something that I was drooling over. *wipes keyboard*
Congrats on the replacement. Glad nothing happened on Mothers Day to where you got hurt.:)

VERY slick looking ride! Sound's like Orbia is either acknowledging a problem or just has great customer service and really wants people riding their bikes to be 100% happy. Either way, that is a VERY good thing and won't be forgotten when N+1 comes around again.
Great green! Lovely bike. Glad things worked out!

Gorgeous bike! :thumb:
Man, those Orca-esque Orbeas are about the only thing that might succeed at tempting me over to the Carbon Fibre Dark Side. Very pretty.

I'm told they are the Cadillacs of bikes. I fell hard for the Orca. I got used to fairly quickly.
I hope the Diva delivers. My non-cycling friends are giving me a hard time about the model name and the color. Feh. They just don't get it.

Non-cycling friends rarely do. Their loss . . .
Great looking ride . . . LBS sounds like a keeper . . . and it's worth noting the classy way Orbea handled things, too . . .
Congrats RR. :thumb: I like the design of the Diva.

Women always get the good stuff.
I see the bike in front of Door #1 and Door #2. What's behind Door #3? :)

What's behind Door #3? :)
One's a closet, one's a water closet, and there is no door #3. ;)
Here's your next bit of kit...

Wow!
The colors are right, but I'm not keen on that skull...nor that circle around the groin area. That's just fugly.

... but what was his bike like?
Here's your next bit of kit...
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t139/t4mv/RR.jpgLook, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... Carbon Fibre Tendon Person! Brought to you by Cadillac. Even superheroes need sponsors in this day and age, apparently.
(And seriously, WTF is with the circled groin?)

No worse than riding w/ an empty messenger bag on a group ride. :p

Does the empty messenger bag call attention to the groin?
If it's private-parts neutral, then it's preferable to a Lycra kit that calls attention to that which needs to attention-calling-to.
Grammar police: I know, I know...:twitchy:
No worse than riding w/ an empty messenger bag on a group ride. :pI wouldn't know anything about riding with an empty bag...

Congrats, Red Rider, on the new Diva. It's a beauty (I may be biased but it is still true!).

No surprise that Rock Racing gear is as expensive as their clothing line... $230 for a lousy jersey!?!
Actually, I think it's only $80 for the bibs, and $150 to have your "groinage" encircled and enhanced... :crash:
