Introductions - Hello everyone.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi, guys. I've been wanting to learn how to ride a bike for quite some time. I'm 21 and *gasp* never got past training wheels because my bike was stolen, haha. I'm just trying to soak in the knowledge from this board, so I won't be posting much.
Happy trails

Set aside your fear. It's really quite easy. I'm hoping to teach my wife (who's a few years older than you) to ride. Maybe this will be the year. Let us know how it goes. We'll be cheering for you.

There's a few threads on learning how to ride a bike. Strange but true--the faster you go, the easier it is to maintain your balance.
Poke through General Cycling, or the Family and Recreational forum, and you should be able to find a thread or two on the subject.
What kind of bike are you looking at getting for a replacement?
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

My bike was stolen about 11 years ago so I'm not even sure what I'm looking for. Folding bikes have caught my interest since I want to be able to use mass transit. There are so many different kinds, it's a bit overwhelming. Thanks for the greetings.

Folders are very useful for someone who uses mass transit. There are a lot more varieties of bikes than there were ten years ago. Fortunately, we cover virtually all of them here :D .
