Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - victory!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
this morning over pop-tarts and reruns I got a call from the insurance claim adjustor. They decided that I was 50% at fault and thus deserved 50% of what I asked for. I let them know this was totally un-acceptable. (Did their client 50% break the law and then 50% hit me?) and that I would have to hire a personal injury litigator in order to get a fair judgment. An hour later I got a call that they would give me 100%! So hey the truth plus sympathetic bike mechanics can equal success.
10 mins later I was out riding my brand new Bianchi pista that I bought the day before. Have to say its good to be riding fixed again and to know my credit card'll get some emergency relief just in time for the christmas/chaunakah/kwanza/chinese-new-year season.

Nice work. Persistence and an angry mob...two best tools to get what you want! Glad you only used the first one.
Hey, Congrats!
I got the settlement claim form (to sign and waive all future rights) from an insurance co. tonight! They faxed it to my lawyer and have agreed to pay me the total amount we asked for as well.
Glad to hear it's working out.

Glad to hear you got taken care of. But, don't you just love how they tried to low-ball you at first to see if you would take half? I talked to someone who worked for an insurance company once and they told me their first step was always to deny the claim because most people wouldn't fight it. Must save them a lot of money that way. Evil bastards.
How much for the chrome seat?
nice work jeff!
this requires a soul veg commute to "break in" that shiny new bike of yours, just wear some long undies...

al- Yes! Soul Veg is a definite, but I'm gonna have to wait until after I get back from visitin' the parents (new years). I pm-ed dumpstervegan too.
riderx - its the WTB rocket v comp which is $90 so I'm thinking around $40 so let me know.

Actually, you could just pay for the groceries and I'd make dinner to blow you away....
Just musing,

jeffThink I'll pass. Not that's it's a bad price, just more than I want to spend on a part that I don't need. Trying to curb my bike part purchasing a bit right now. Thanks anyway!
