Hello again everyone. I wanted to know where i can find these rubber rings that goes around the brake/shifter cables. I don't really know if rubber rings is the correct term for it. I bought me a bike last year and wanted to do the same on the trek 5500 that i'm building. My older bike have the campy veloce group parts. I believe this rubber rings are used to prevent the cables from rubbing the frame. Check the picture and tell me if you know what the right name is and where i can buy them. Here's the picture.

You might try a local shop. When I worked at the local shop for a few weeks I ended up collecting a bag of about 50 of them just from putting together 4 bikes. I'm sure they'd be happy to give you a few.

You can find them at Icycles. Here is the link: http://www.icyclesusa.com/. Look under the small parts section, and then go the the small cable parts section. They call them cable silencers and are 5 for a $1.

If your LBS does not carry, o-rings used for plumbing, automobiles, etc. would work. Drop by your local auto parts store or plumbing supplier and see if they what they have.
