The other night on speed network I caught an interesting episode of the low life. The low life usually focuses on cars but this episode was completely dedicated to low rider bikes. I was really impressed with everything people put on there bicycles. When done these bikes must of had 10 grand put into them. When you take into account hydraulics and other things like game boys and such.

Here's a trailer queen for you:

It was entered in a small local car show today. Completely un-ridable, but the owner was really cool and the work he did to it was pretty nice. I have to admit though, I do like being able to ride a bike instead of just showing it off. To each his own I guess.

With regards to 'Livin' The Low Life':

1) I am sooo in love with Vida Guerra (just don't tell my wife),

2) despite being un-rideable, the low-rider bikes are pretty cool, and

3) There was a feature in one show about a car wheel company that makes tensioned spoke automotive rims for low-rider & other 70's rolling iron. I believe the company name was Zenith out of Calfornia. These rims are the cat's backside. Love to get a set but my Saturn Coupe (The Plastic Car For Adults) wouldn't do them justice. I like the idea of a car wheel that uses spokes.

Looks to me like a minor adjustment in angle would render that thing rideable (although uncomfortable) while having minimal effect on cosmetics.
