Hi,
I have finally decided to stop lurking and introduce myself.
I have ridden since I was six, off and on, anything I could get. I finally graduated to a good road bike in 1979, and was a weekend warrior until 1997. Then I moved to the South Shore of Massachusetts and took up sailing, stopped riding for 10 years... and gained 30 pounds. Last October, the commuter train finally made it to the South Shore, and I decided to use the train to get to the many available rides that I could only reach before by car (no parking when I got there).
I have wanted a folding bike for many years. A road bike is just not practical to cart around by car or train (and will not fit in a sailboat). This spring I looked around again for a price-friendly folder that was also possible for a 59 year old, short, female to cart around on trains and busses. I am now the proud owner and rider (slightly wobbly) of a Downtube Mini. I found the forum from the Downtube link and have gotten a lot of help here (Jur is my inspiration). Now I have some questions that I haven't seen covered elsewhere, so I will be asking for help.
See you then.
