Classic & Vintage - PA-10E is all done, check the pics!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I finally got my Peugeot PA-10E project about 99% done. Check it out...

Hi Wrey,
Nice pictures! I was wondering, I also have a vintage Peugeot and my mine looks very similar to your bike in the pictures. I was under the impression that my Peugeot is a PX-10. Would you know the difference between a PA-1oE and a PX-10?
Thanks, bydarules (Olie)

UO-8: carbon steel frame; steel rims; clinchers; steel crankset;
PA-10: UO-8 with sewups and integral derailleur hanger;
PR-10/PKN-10: Reynolds 531 main triangle, Stronglight cotterless crankset;
PX-10: full Reynolds 531; chrome half-stays
I have always liked the classic early 1970s Peugeot graphics, particularly with white. (My current UO-8 looks OK in red, but my previous UO-8 looked even better in white.) At Bikecology/Supergo, we always had trouble keeping enough white UO-8s and UO-18 mixtes in stock; the blue and green were far less popular. The PA-10 was always a difficult sell, because of the 14-21 freewheel and tubulars; it looks like someone converted yours to clinchers.

doh!
I've seem pristine original px-10's go for $400 on a good ebay day.
Mostly, nice rideable ones can fetch around $220+
Grab ANY Reynolds 531-tubed bikes. You can usually recoup your money and then some. If you find one your size, snatch it up and ride it :)

Thanks for the Peugeot information - it's a PX-10.

I like the bike, but I don't think that will surprise anyone.

Oops and OUCH! That one got away. Hope that it went to someone who appreciates it.
I believe this was recently topped by a Rene Herse, but a couple of years ago, a 1963(?) PX-10 sold for over $7K on eBay.
Wrey: your pix of the Mafac seemed to show the the
brake pad holder may be reversed. Look at the bike and
see if the pads don't have an aluminum tab at one end of the holder: that tab should face forward as it keeps
the rubber in the holder, as it is the rubber might be jerked out of the holder on the first hard braking. Steve

sch, it is facing forward, isn't it? Am I missing something, or going crazy?

Mea culpa, that is the rear brake, not the front DOH. Steve
