Anyone doing LAC in San Jose July 13th?

My first century in (at least) twenty eight years, hope to see and meet some of you all there; I'll be on my venerable blue/silver Giant VT with large silver bar ends, fitted with slicks for the road, wearing silver Bell Trident helmet.

Say "Hey!"

I hope to be wearing a light jersey with a likeness of Pop stenciled on it.

<My fundraising min is already met>

Current plan is to drive down Saturday and stay in HJ or some other place close to the startin' line.

Life in Chico is great! My new job has set hours, no after hours calls and incessant "emergencies," and, I get to go home EVERY DAY! So far, my wife still likes me home EVERY DAY!!

The moutain biking, however, isn't quite the same... Bidwell Park is fun, but it's no BDM.

On t'other hand, I spin back and forth to work every day, because I can park my ride in my cube! ...and, there's miles of roads and trails in the foothills to discover; although the logging companies and forest service have gated many of the roads we used to drive on (cuttin' firewood), that won't stop a VT - looking forward to rediscovering the forests of ponderosa pines, red cedar, lodgepoles, oaks, fir, madrone, yadda yadda, that my son and I used to explore back when.

And, one of these days, I'll finally get a road bike... heh

Whoohoo! LAC is tomorrow!

Last check, there were over 700 riders - any BFers?

Even with all the pics you all post, I'd probably only recognize Taxi, Zippy (who I had the pleasure of meeting one day out on Empire Mine) and Curtis... so say "Hey!" o.k.?

I will be riding my one and only, the silver and blue VT1.

My new jersey has this image of Pop on the back, and the text: "Every Day is a Good Day" ...which he said a lot in his later years.

Oh well, I'm having trouble posting the image - it's a screenprint of a pencil portrait of my dad, very distinctive, like me!

I'll be there, as will my wife and step dad.

He and I will be out on the 65mi., the wife is going to set fire to the 50mi. course. :)

We all start out on the same route, just at different times, so if I see you I'll shout. I'll be in a full Livestrong Kit, on a Trek2100 that is covered in Specialized parts <--!! OMG?

Should be a good event, we'll see how it goes getting out of some of the really busy areas.

I will be there for the 100 mile event, on my Kona Major Jake, it's very green so you can't miss it. Hope everyone has a good time, see you there.

Yep, I'll be there, on the 100 mile loop, wearing black/yellow BF jersey - it fits so well with the event's color scheme :) My wife and I rode down to the convention center this AM so I can pick up my packet; she decided to sign up for the 50!

Have a great ride all!
