Anyone doing LAC in San Jose July 13th?
My first century in (at least) twenty eight years, hope to see and meet some of you all there; I'll be on my venerable blue/silver Giant VT with large silver bar ends, fitted with slicks for the road, wearing silver Bell Trident helmet.
Say "Hey!"
I hope to be wearing a light jersey with a likeness of Pop stenciled on it.
<My fundraising min is already met>
Current plan is to drive down Saturday and stay in HJ or some other place close to the startin' line.
****
Life in Chico is great! My new job has set hours, no after hours calls and incessant "emergencies," and, I get to go home EVERY DAY! So far, my wife still likes me home EVERY DAY!!
The moutain biking, however, isn't quite the same... Bidwell Park is fun, but it's no BDM.
On t'other hand, I spin back and forth to work every day, because I can park my ride in my cube! ...and, there's miles of roads and trails in the foothills to discover; although the logging companies and forest service have gated many of the roads we used to drive on (cuttin' firewood), that won't stop a VT - looking forward to rediscovering the forests of ponderosa pines, red cedar, lodgepoles, oaks, fir, madrone, yadda yadda, that my son and I used to explore back when.
And, one of these days, I'll finally get a road bike... heh
