Foo - I'm back. (aka- return of the Arrogant Bastage)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

about 30lbs bigger and alot more tired than I used to be, but I'm back from my hiatus. Kinda disapeared for awhile, from the forums, cycling in general, and life in the real world and internet as well. No time, no energy. Too busy taking care of my wife who was diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritus and may have to have yet another surgery on her spine to boot. In my off time I decided to have a furious bout of depression. Hey, everyone needs a hobby.
I'm still not okay, but I've decided its time to face the world, even if its just to get back on a bike. I dont have much time to do much, so it'll be slow going (especially if my wife gets stuck with another surgery) but I realy realy miss riding and getting away into the woods. I need to make time for me.
I left alot of things hanging (including some busness here at BF) so to anyone I've slighted, sorry. I've missed ya'll and I'm here to stay.

I need to make time for me.

Unfortunatly, I've been down some simular roads myself and yes, that is important too. Especially when people are counting you (I actually gained 70# and did not have the energy to provide the level of support I wanted to provide).

When the family was struck again by tragedy I'm certain my renewed love of training and riding kept me from becoming depressed. I also lost those 70 lbs. too!

On another note, my sister has RA and it is amazing how far medical advances have brought us in recent years. Once on disability, she is now back to work and making up for lost time with my now teenaged nieces (17 and 21).

Welcome back!

Through all of my challenges one of the things that held me together is biking. It gives me a lot of peace.

Actually, i used to breed rabbits. I have a rather longstanding attachment to them. The order Lagomorpha actually consists of two families, the Leporidae (rabbits, hares) and the Ochotonidae (pika's, conies).

There is a little known third family, more of a subset, the so-called Devil Bunny. Not quite a full rabbit, it leans more towards the uber-cute cartoon image (like Thumper of bambi fame)....

There's an informative link in my sig if you like =:)
