Sorry, I can't help much. Check the frame material to determine if it's magnetic (=steel). That will help somewhat.

I think that the wishbone seatstay(s) will also help identify.

Custom? Rather Sweetpea-esque when you think about/look at it. That HT space makes me want to weld a gusset in there.

Dunno. Looks like comfortable geometry though.

The wishbone seatstay looks like the ones that Trek's have. But I've never seen a Trek that looked like that.

It's titanium, (the photo names mention Haro, so that's a good bet). The components date it to 1995/1996, although it might be older.

That frame is huge, it's for a rider 6'3" or taller.

Yeah, I saw the Haro in the pic name, but I related it to a username more than a bike.

Closest Haro that I'd consider would be the Impasse, but it didn't have a wishbone, just an A-frame.

Todd Lyons rode a Haro mtb in 1995, it may have had a wishbone. Trip in the wayback machine.

Yeah it's older, notice the rear cantilever cable stop on the rear.

Definitely titanium, but I'm pretty sure that Haro didn't make a Ti bike in the mid-nineties.

I'm at a loss. We should go recruiting.

it has all xt and xtr components.

Huh?

The brake and shift levers are either STX or Alivio, the cranks are Topline, the rear brake is an XT v-brake -while the front is an LX, the headset looks like a very old King without the laser etched logos... etc.

You're 5'7"? Do you have 4" of clearance when you straddle the top tube?

I would say yes, but the Bontrager Ti's that I have seen have a shorter headtube, but... It's as close as I've seen.

$100.00? Ride it like you stole it, because for that price, you did.

kramnnim

$100? Quite a deal... You'd be much better off selling it, and buying something that fits...

Yeah, we know what it looks like, but it only half looks like yours. 1997 Bontrager Ti is what's in the pic... Not what you have.

is it safe to say thats what it is?

It's missing too many Bontrager characteristics -- like the gussets under the top and down tubes. It's also missing the weld under the seat cluster where the seatpost sleeve is welded to the seat tube. Head tube isn't machined either.

But it was probably manufactured by the same company that built Ti frames for Bontrager -- Sandvik, now known as Titanium Sports.

Agreed, that's about as close as you're going to get, but the head tube and the wishbone is off. I'd say that it's a custom/one-off. Still a good deal if it fits you.

are you comparing it to the 97? or did all models have those characteristics? maybe an older bontrager? 94 95?
