Very few of you idiots can spell. The scary part is that I get the sense this is a college crowd.

Kudos, no spelling errors. Let's see how long the rocket scientists here can extend the Proper Spelling Streak.

What a cheek! An American complaining about the standard of English after *******ising our mother tongue for over two centuries.

We turned it into the motherFer tongue.

Spelling is abysmal on the internet. Always has been, always will.

In fact, I believe it will get worse as the digital age progresses.

Whilst in university (far too long ago now) I applied for a holiday job teaching English abroad in a language school. I was rejected on the grounds that I speak English and not American. I'm still bitter; nearly as bitter as when I was turned down for a job at McDonalds.

Spelling phonetically is quite a bit simpler (not saying this is a good thing either), it's just unfortunate you lose a lot of the root meaning & history in words.

pushaw...in my early years in highschool I got refused access to the computer class, even though I had more experience than any student in the school. The reason, I have a small handicap on my left hand that forced me to fail typing class. Why you ask?...I can't put my forefinger on the little stupid nipples on the J and the F. I type one full set of letters to the left. At over 100 words a minute, they still wouldn't pass me.

Anyways, I just felt like sharing, people are unfair at times. I know my old teacher still, and I look back and laugh at the early years of computers science...

I misspell words on purpose, just so I can use the nifty edit feature. Suk on that.

Incorrect.

I've never attended a day of college, yet I doubt seriously that you'll find many spelling errors in my posts. I also worked as a carpenter for 25 years, never having to write anything other than a lumber list for my living, relying instead on everything I learned with a public high school education.

Now...how much more idiotic are college graduates that can't spell if I can?

Did you mean to post this in the Road Cycling Forum? I can move this thread if you erred.

I can spell correctly if I know a judge will be reading my writing at a parole hearing.

On a serious note, looking back on my younger days on the internet, I realized my posts set off my gag reflex due to such amazing errors.

I'd have to say that forums and general internet usage has probably improved my ability to use English correctly way more than any class in high school ever has.

Didn't you get the memo? The rest of the world has caught on, why don't you?

A reminder: the British, and your outdated spelling, is a thing of the past.

I'm not sifting through 16000+ messages to point out your errors. My time is more valuable than that.

You have made errors in spelling, everyone does.

What point is there in spelling an incoherent or dumb idea properly?

since when are the chattering classes here attempting to express an idea?

surely you're giving them too much credit.

I must have missed the memo. We were too busy spreading love and understanding, civilisation, and the word of God to the world. How comes no one thanked us? All we wanted in return was a little tea tax. Good luck with your Freedom crusade. Maybe the world will show more appreciation this time.
