Well it started out as a 73 Azuki Racer. Now is my daily rider.

That looks good. Those wheels are so new that you havent removed the american flag tags. You could lighten it up a lot with a new saddle.

if it's fixed why are you running both brakes? I think it looks great but I honestly your bike looks like a nice new build below your TT and old clunky stuff above, I'd say work on new bars, Headset, saddle, black seatpost, upgrade front brake from old center pulls to some newer ones, loose your rear brake and add cages and straps and she'll be the envy on your block! I run cheapy tainge headsets in a few of mine and I've been real happy with them for $12. Keep us posted lookin' great so far!

you painted the bike with the chain still on it, or what? i like the color, though.

I love the brand new sparkling parts mixed in with the rusted out parts... like that nice clean chain ring with the rusted out pedals.

live2die raises a good point 'bout the double brakes. lose the weight = go faster!

Ok here is the deal.
Brakes: I want to keep them on until I get my new bull horn handle bars in b/c I like resting on the brake handles. And honestly just havent been in a rush to pull the rear ones off.
Seat: Im keeping it. Its comfortable and I like the look
Wheels: I kept the flag stickers on the wheels b/c I like them also
Pedels: will eventually be replaces. Also cages are on the way now
The whole bike I want to keep some of its original pieces while changes the others. Like the front shield and other org paint areas.
The painted chain thing happened b/c I painted the bike one afternoon just to get it done and didn't remove it..oh well

Anyways thanks for the compliments. Getting ready to go on my first organized ride with some other fixies here in LA.

at least get some steel wool on the pedals and get the rust off, and I hear ya on the brake hoods the horns will make it look much better! Black seatpost would still bring the bike together better and leave your stickers and all that jazz, it's your bike love it and ride it! if you like the saddle thats whats important just must weigh a ton and sure is huge, I'll bet you'll hate that saddle after about 8 miles the super cush ones tend to suck for longevity but great for short rides, just a thing to think about. Also I'm assuming you got your wheels online if so get them re-tensioned and trued before you start rilling on them and it will save you money on a complete overhaul. Enjoy your ride keep it rubber side down!

If you ever get sick of the saddle (I imagine it weighs a couple pounds) do take a look at Brooks saddles. They have sprung saddles and unsprung also. That bike is begging for a black Brooks :)

I have an Azuki of about the same vintage i'm going to rebuild once I have the money.

yeah I sure did. I taped off where I wanted the original paint to stay and then sprayed the bike. Did a black primer and then the blue. 1 hour prep time and 30 min paint time
