well my buddy wants to get a kilo tt...but there is an unfortunate wait (ships june 30th at earliest)...and probably an even longer wait if he goes for the newer, orange frame.
Im going to try to contact bikesdirect if they can sell me a kilo TT sooner - I have purchased two kilo tt's from them within the last 12 months if that will help.
what else is there?
B Pista prices are up ~100 or so, LBS is selling them at 599 and 649 respectively =/.\
there are used bikes, but nothing that seem as a good buy (sf bay area has good demand on fixed products)

looking at http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=407610 (the bike island stuff),
what other parts/components do i add to fully make it? I'm not really familiar with each of the names of each part of the bike, but i have and can assemble them (ive tinkered with them before, and know how to put em together, chain tensioners, etc etc).
very noobish, but could you guys just list the basic parts i need (then ill just catalog them off bikeisland or wherever good place to go, nashbar maybe?) to add to the frame's shopping cart....hehehehehe
thanks for helping me out

hmmm. Well I hear what your saying but I am going to take a guess that if you don't know what exactly you'll need chances are you will not have the tools to build it up, for example headset press, BB tread chaser etc. If you were to buy a frame and build up heres the list, but I'm assuming you will need you LBS to install BB and headset at least which won't be too much. Two wheels rear with a track hub fixed rear spacing 120 front 100, BB, Cranks, Chain, Cog, Lockring, Pedals, Headset, Stem, Handlebars, Seatpost, Saddle, Clips n' straps (unless your running clipless), Two Tires, two tubes, grease, bar tape or grips, the frame from bike island has a seatpost collar but some frames you get for instance Scattante ssr you will need a collar as well. if you build wheels or buy them online without tires installed you'll need rim tape or velo plugs. If you decide to build it up I would suggest going through an LBS on most of this because they can help you get the right stuff like proper spindle length on your BB. Also if you buy wheels online pre-built you will need to take them to your LBS (or do it yourself if you know how) and have them re-tensioned and trued BEFORE you ride on them. Building a bike is one of the most rewarding and valuable experiences you can have but don't be too shy to use an LBS for some help and use them to get many of your parts and they will be way more willing to work with you to build it up, most of all remember that you will spend more money doing it this way but you can get what you want and you'll know how to fix/diagnose your bike much better having built it yourself. Most of all whichever route you go make sure you ride your bike and don't forget that a bike is for fun and is practical but only when your sitting on it putting in the miles! Good luck and keep asking questions and trolling here and www.sheldonbrown.com and you'll be golden! Cheers.
