don't rip me a new ******* for asking this. since i don't live in the States or any major city with a track bike culture i need someone online to help answer this for me.

how many people actually buy Non MSW rims and run a brake on them? Is this number large?

here are my thoughts on this...

people that do are, i'm going to guess, very fashion conscience. but wouldn't the burnt off paint on the side wall look like ****? burnt paint isn't very fashionable is it? and don't you just look like a dumb ass poser? it's self defeating isn't it?

Yes.

Color rims are SO last summer, anyway.

I'm all about the stock Kilo TT wheelset. They are the new Deep-V.

Hah, funny you should say that. When I sold off my Deep V's, I rode the Kilo wheelset for like two weeks until my Open Pro wheelset was built.

It's a shame that sandpaper on sandpaper moves smoother than those damn stock hubs.

well pretty much everyone i have ever met (including myself) has had the following situation

a) i'm going to get non-machined deep v's because they look so damn cool and i'm super stoked about my new fixed gear i'm building

b) i'm not going to run a brake because 1) it's just my 'coffee shop bike' 2) it doesn't look 'cool' and/or 3) i spent all my money on those deep v's

c) i eat ***** a few times, or come darn close

d) i go get a brake, but don't have the $$$ to bother buying a whole new wheel.

i just plan on swapping out my NMSW wheel for my old generic road MSW front when i run front brake and run my old wheelset(that has the freewheel still on it) if i want two brakes...

and sure it's last year but it looks so damn good...
