Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

replacing parts on bike, going clipless, buying bibs (well, that was only $33), buying a torque wrench and bits ($30 for 5 bits of metal! for ****'s sake!). i probably went $200-$300 over budget.

You didn't spend; you invested. Look it as this... your bike is keeping the medical bills away compared to the Hoverround type going to the Costco who doesn't spend on bike stuff.
