So, I get my new bike next Saturday. The last bike that I bought was a Norco BigFoot, just to tell you how long ago that was. About 215 lbs ago actually. Now I'm sitting pretty at 360, down from 385 just over 2 weeks ago. To my knowladge that's the highest I've been, and to be honest I think it's my turn around point. I haven't really been on a bike in about 15 years but I imagine falling off will be just as easy now as it was then. However, I did drop a bit more coin for this bike as a precaution for my weight and also as an added motivator to get out and ride. Any one have a good program for someone getting back in the saddle. I used to be a "go big or stay home" kinda person but I think that I am getting to old for that and I need to kinda ease in. Basically, cause last time I went big, I got hurt and had to stay home (hee hee).

Will post a picture of me and the new ride next week,

and thanks in advance for all you tips!

The best ride program on the planet.....get out and ride, and have fun. ;)

Later, you can decide if you want to do serious training for a specific ride discipline, but for now, I'd just as soon see your butt in the saddle and a big grin on your face, cranking out some miles. :D

I weigh about as much as you. When I started I rode 5 miles a day for a week, then I bumped the mileage 5 miles every week. After a month I was doing 20 miles a day. I still strive for 20-25 miles a day just because that is all I have time for.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to getting out there. There are quite a few rice patties around me and they are very flat. I think that's what I'll tackle to start with.
