General Cycling Discussion - Day 6 Dream

I am thinking about purchasing this bike. Are there any users out there who can share their experiences with this machine?

Not a user, but a mechanic that assembled one for someone recently. It's a decent bike, shop quality construction. Assembly may be a bit over the head of a person without mechanical skills. The only issue I had was the rear brake cable. It was too short, as was the housing going into the brake noodle. I replaced the cable, but it has to be tandem length, which is longer, and a section of housing.

The test ride went well, as I had properly tensioned all the cables for braking and shifting, trued the wheels, and inflated the tires to the max pressure. The sofa like seat was a bit awkward to me, but saddles are a subjective item and I don't test the saddles for comfort, just proper installation then fit for the individual rider.

They are pricey, but worth it. The 26" wheels are normal comfort/cruiser/MTB size, so tire customization is easy. All the components are normal, nothing is proprietary. You can put any saddle you want on it, and all the shifting and braking parts are off the shelf Shimano and Tektro bits. The cables and housings are longer then normal bikes, but nothing that can't be ordered.

Wow, it's sort of like an Electra Townie...just twice as expensive and no assembly.
