General Cycling Discussion - Extrasensory powers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have noticed when I drive my girlfriends car, I have trouble at intersections where I have to rely on only my sight to see oncoming traffic. Since I bike so much, I am used to using all my senses to see the traffic.
Does this mean cyclists have better developed senses?

I think it just means that on a bike, most of your sense are not blocked out by some stupid smog box. That's the reason I feel safer on a bike than I ever would in a car.
You're right Steele. Not only are our senses better developed, but our habits are different from motorists too.
Quite often when I'm driving I find myself looking slightly up and toward the left where my helmet mirror is mounted to see whats behind me. It doesn't work when I'm driving. :(
