We finally got our first road tandem this weekend!!!! We are very excited. Thanks to every one on the board for responses to several posts and sharing your lessons and experiences, I am sure because of all the information at hand, we were able to make a informed decision and hopefully avoid some pitfalls.

We ended up buying a new ( 07 ) Santana Sovereign SE at a LBS that we stumbled into while traveling to the DFW area for the Memorial day weekend. The shop sized us, and to my surprise, the bike size I thought we needed was actually not. I am sure if I had ordered one on line or purchased a used one, I am sure it would of worked, but after putting 100 miles on this weekend I know it is the right bike for us. I will post a couple of photos of me and my stoker in the couples thread.

I did, I actually went looking for a Cannondale and had decided that that’s what we wanted since $3000 was my limit on our first bike and we wanted aluminum, we felt our options were a bit limited.

I got this Santana for 3050.00 which we though was great deal. We liked the ride of the Santana better and it was quite a bit lighter than the Cannondale.

We are very excited. We should of done this 15 years ago :) . Over the years we have both tried to share each other interest, but just never really connected. She tried golf, I tried yoga, ect… This is the first time we have really discovered something together. It been great.
