Hi all, I just joined the forum and received a kindly invitation to introduce myself myself, so here goes.
What with gas prices on the steady increase over the last few years, me and my wife have found ourselves doing a few things to cut our fuel costs. This included making the decision to commute to work by pedal-power.
We had a pair of MTBs in the shed that we bought about 6 years back. Bought and never used, I pulled them out of the shed and both had very flat tires and rusting on the brake components. We decided that rather than spend a bunch of money fixing them up I would replace my MTB with a commuter and see how that worked. So went down to our local WalMart and got.... I don't know the term for this type, I personally call it a Town & Country, 7-speed touring model I guess. It came with fenders and chain guard which seem to be highly recommended for commuting, so I took the plunge and went for it. I need to see about mouting a rear rack for it and it should be perfect for my needs.
This forum seems to be a wealth of user tips and advice on bicycling, I'm really glad I found it.
