Hi i have an upcoming bike tour planned through central asia(all of the "stans") you can see a rough route map at www.steppebysteppe.com.au , and I've heard lots of stories over trouble with border crossings, permits etc, has anyone toured much in any of these regions, and do you have any helpful advice or anecdotes to enlighten me with, so I can be be prepare or avoid any of this?
