If I had to choose between a Motobecane Messenger or Mercier Kilo TT, which would be the better bike and why? Or should I just forget these bikes? I want a bike with a flip flop hub and brakes. Thanks for the help.

If you want to run front and rear brakes, the motobecane comes with cable guides brazed on, which are a lot cleaner looking and more convenient than having to use clamp on cable guides.

On the other hand, the Kilo TT comes with a sexier fork and is better looking in general, IMO.

redline 925 or raleigh rush hour are both way better options but guess what, they cost more.

between the two, i like the kilo tt's frame better. i love my frame build, but i've done a hell of a lot to get it like it is.

Ouch. If you were Locke...I'd be Berkley: Who are you to say what is reality and with in just in your mind? Isnt a primary...just a secondary?

I really enjoy my Motobecane, it is a great starter bike that is wide open to be wrenched upon. It is true that the bike is a no name frame with a "bought" Motobecane logo slapped on the side but its a biek none the less. The TT is superior in a few ways but not as friendly to beginners...or atleast I've heard.

In the end, its your money. Personaly...if you can get over the fact that everyone giggles on the inside with they see the Motobecane...go for it. If you can't...be like everyone else and buy the TT. Otherwise, shut up, read more...and if you can't make up your mind...save your money and buy something nicer. You would know this if you had searched...there was a post like this just the week before last.
