I'm going to be spending a month in Braunschweig, Germany and was looking for a few good biking routes (mountain, road, anything really) Any suggestions?

I've never been there, but my experience so far in other places in Germany is that there's lots of info on bicycling -- on the web -- and maps + guidebooks in local bookstores (or sometimes newsstand kiosk). Or when you get there, just look for other people riding their bicycles and follow them, or ask at a local tourist office.Even searching on English words seems to work, like google "bike Braunschweig" immediately gives two bike routes.Last year when I was thinking of visiting near Hannover I was amazed to find a website with lots of maps of places to skate on the roads. If the road or path is good enough for people to skate on it, I feel pretty confident I could ride my bike too.

Checking Braunschweig in my guidebooks and map sets for all of Germany, it doesn't like it is known for having great bicycling, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't have some decent bicycling which can be readily discovered. (Here's some riding (http://www.roberts-1.com/t/b07/g/s/f/index.htm) Sharon + I discovered last year in northern Germany even before we had any bicycling maps or guidebooks).

Sure, the Weser-Harz-Heide-Radweg goes right through Braunschweig.
