Greetings,

I've been looking at front rack options for my bike. It's an 03 Raleigh M80 that I'm setting up to do some touring. It has suspension forks(RockShox JudyTT) and disc brakes. What I would like to put on front is something with a top shelf that can also work around the suspension fork and disc brakes.

I've looked at the OMM Sherpa, but would like to see what other options there might be. I like the dual mounting heights for panniers offered on the Jandd Extreme, but at repeated glances, it appears that it will not work with my current setup. Something tells me that with the right blend of patience/creativity and a well-stocked hardware store(or maybe some custom parts of my own) it can be done.

Has anyone made the Jandd Extreme work for similar situations, or are there any other racks available which may meet my requests? I've searched around here for any threads that might address this problem but have come up empty after several attempts.

I've also considered swapping the forks for something rigid with the necessary mounts, but have decided to keep the current fork. Come on, I can't make it THAT easy on myself...

Thanks in advance,

Chase

Hey, I've seen fellows adapt a rear rack like the Blackburn Expedition for the front. It can be done, just get creative. But I do own the OM Sherpa and really like it.

The issue you'll have with the Jandd rack is the width, it is too damn narrow - 5" and change if I remember. I have managed to get rear racks to mount on shocks with some spacers in the past was could not find a way to get a Jannd on there properly. You can bend it and mount it but the shimmy makes it worthless.
