Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm looking for my first pair of clipless shoes, mountain bike style so i can walk/run around in them. Something under $80 would be nice, do any stores stand out as having a good selection? I looked at Performance Bike briefly but nothing interested me.

Any suggestions for shoes would be appreciated as well. I'd like to try some cyclocross when that comes around, so something that accepts toe spikes might be nice? I also think I'd prefer a standard lace-up over velcro, i didnt see many of those.

Specialized makes good shoes, my Carbon Comp MTB shoes are stiff enough that I use them on the road also. No help on stores unless you want to drive to Wisconsin. You can buy right from Specialized on their website.
