Can any one please tell me or give me a line to somewhere that explains how to measure a bike frame? I want to measure the bike frame itself, NOT me for the frame; from where to where do I measure a top tube, seat tube, etc?

I live in a pretty nice neighborhood and might be able to find a nice "garage bike" at a yard/garage sale for a second mount for myself or my husband.

thanks.

take a measuring tape or ruler.... put the end at the center of the crank spindle.... then measure to the end of the seat tube...

Now is where it gets tricky.... some manufacturers measure from center of bottom bracket to center of top tube. if you measure this way, you measure up to approximately center of where the top tube meets the seat tube.

Other manufacturers measure from center of bottom bracket to top of top tube. if you measure this way, you measure up to where the top of the top tube meets the seat tube.
