Fifty Plus (50+) - Stolen Pinarello from Local Bike Shop

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just a matter of time before the young fellow in the photos is nabbed.

Here's an email circulating in our area:

Added to this report is the correct back view and the necessary file to run the video if you don’t have it already installed. There may also be another vehicle being used. (Black Ford SUV, Explorer?) Thanks in advance for our help. There is only 1 other Pinarello Prince LE in Charlotte and it belongs to the owner of the Pinarello importer. There were only 7-53cm bikes made. Serial # is also now below as well

Please forward this on to all cyclists and bike shops you know.

Stolen Saturday night at 10:15pm from SouthPark Cycles in Charlotte NC was a
Pinarello Prince Limited Edition (red, white and carbon) in a size 53 serial# A80520 (underneath cable guide) Car used is suspected to be a black (or very dark) Ford Crown Victoria. Suspect is white male, approximately 5'8" to 5'10 fair skin, slender build probably younger than 25, short hair. There appears to be a second person involved, roughly the same size and build (the taller of the 2) with short dark hair. Please check out the following links Please check out T-shirt and Shoes of suspect. It appears that theft was actually planned for Friday night but were spooked. There will be a large shopping spree involved if the perpetrator is captured alive. For all info please contact myself or Officer Hartung chartung@cmpd.org .

http://www.pinarellousaprince.com/ The particular bike that was stolen was
only one of 50 and has the same frame as pictured in the link. It was a
complete record bike with Pinarello branded Continental tires, Pinarello 50K

What I can't understand is why someone who would steal a Pinarello is driving a Ford Crown Vic.

Tails and horns are removed at birth and special training at government indoctrination centers allow them to associate with humans. google "aliens among us"

By the description of the suspects, a 53cm bike should fit fairly well. The bike is so unique it will be hard to peddle (correct use of word!) without parting it out, only to waste the frame. Maybe some "rich evil collector" of great and vintage bikes has arrainged to steal the bike for his private collection.

Way back when I was in college there was a local bike shop with a orange/white and gold "Tour de France" bike with campy everything and it was a 21.5 cm (my size). I can't tell you how many times I thought about how I could break in and take the bike. Never did, only thought and wished for it while I rode my entry level Railegh Super Course TT.
