I have a Road Morph G by Topeak, which has been working great for 2 months (as far as frame pumps go) but recently when I had a flat on my MTB I had a problem fitting it onto a Schrader valve.

Officially it works with Schrader valves as well as Prestas (it works great with Prestas, btw) but when I unscrew the cap in order to fit the Schrader valve in, I find that moving the locking lever does nothing except push the valve out.

Can somebody help me figure out what I am doing wrong? I really need this pump to work for 2 bikes, that's why I paid $40 for it.

You need to flip the two pieces inside the pump head around. There is a small plastic piece behind the rubber piece. Sorry for my lovely technical terms. :p

So it's not as fast and easy as a smart head then? I thought it would be twist and go. Still... if it works...

So the rubber thing flips around and makes a hole that fits... I see. Thanks for your help... it's not too bad, I just hope I don't have to do it in the dark... I might lose a piece!

To clarify, there are three loose pieces involved. Unscrew the cap ring, take out the two rubber pieces inside, flip them both around, reassemble. As you've found, the lever can help push the pieces out.

Thanks, I got it.
