Whilst walking my dogs this evening through Fairview park in Costa Mesa I came across a group of bicycle hashers. Anyone with contact info? This sounds like my style. One of the riders said they were located in Long Beach. Anybody?

That explains why all the riders were on mountain bikes. Roadies are against unauthorized fun it seems.

Hashing, a short version.

One guy in front. He lays down a trail of flour. Others pursue. Everyone drinks beer later. My dad did the running version for years. Looks like a good way to get miles in while having fun.

Sounds like fun, is this done anywhere, road or trail?

When I was a runner I used to belong to the Hash House Harriers out of Los Angeles. There is a fairly active group here in Orange County as I see their "hash" marks everywhere. Just last weekend, there were marks through my apartment complex. I always see them through Peters' Canyon.

HHH - by the way - is a "hare and hound" running group. Somone is the hare and leaves a trail and the hounds have to find it. But basically it was just an excuse to drink. We commonly had keg stops in
the middle of the run.

Can't run anymore but I may be able to participate on bike. Let me know if you find out any information.

Here's the website for the local chapter:

Return of the Stripper Dog

Run: no, ride!
Hares: Dumb Numb Nuts and a lot of weenies
Location: Costal Mexico (west side Costa Mesa)
Thomas Guide: Wrap you dog in that!
Cost: $5.00
Directions: Take 55 freeway till it ends and make a right turn on 19th Street. Follow it till it almost ends (after second STOP SIGN) and LFB. OR Take PCH till Superiour, go away from ocean, turn left on Placentia, Turn Left on 19th Street. Go past second STOP SIGN and LFB.

Since it is two weeks past ride you bike to Hare a Long Beach RUN, I'll hare a proper BOHICA on a bike. It will have the usual stuff but noer strippers than you've ever seen in one place that won't cost more than $5. And some glorious PBR. Amen. Lights will be a great idea, and legal too! And in order for the air to be filled with tires, headgear will not need to be removed.

Go to their website and check out their calendar and then check out the members names - geez! I think
that says it all!!!

This ended up closing down an Ikea for an afternoon because someone saw them dusting flour in the parking lot and called it in as a terrorist event... :roflmao2:
