Hi all,
Looking for a budget/decent frame. Currently I ride a generic steel 853 frame, but it's the wrong size. I bought it used from a local shop, it did the job. I need a 51cm, but am riding a 55cm. I've never really had huge issues with the frame, but I am looking to step up a bit, as well as tie me over for now. I still need a couple of years before I step into the exotics (Carbon, Ti, MMMMmmmmmmm....). I have a decent 9sp. 105 groupset with Mavic Open Pros that I'm happy with for now, but I would like to upgrade the frame and forks. The frame is about 5-6 years old, groupset is about 2 years old.
I am looking at Rossin frames from a local shop (La Bicicletta) and was thinking of building one of these up with my current 105 setup, but I've not been able to find too much information about these frames. They seem like a decent frame, both the steel and the aluminum ones. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? I'm not really looking for a Steel/Aluminum debate (although you may comment for these frames). I'm looking for some info on the quality of the frames. The La Bicicletta site says they use Altec aluminum (Columbus?) or Genesis/Nemo/Nuron steel, depending on the model. The Rossin website contradicts that and says they use Dedacciai 7003 Aluminium or Dedacciai 03 Steel , depending on what model you select. I haven't been able to find much to comment on the quality of these materials.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
