My boss has a problem with his cell phone... No signal inside of his office.

Does anyone know of a device / gadget that can help to fix this?

- Thanks =)

I work with a company that put some type of booster/antenna in their building, not sure what equipment they deployed. Have you done an internet search on "Cell Booster"?

I found this on amazon... (http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Extenders-Phone-Signal-Booster/dp/B000J2XZ1K/ref=pd_sim_cps_title_1) reviews show that it works !

Thanks for the tips =)

Window.

Cell phone boosters of the sort that stick on to a phone or battery often void the warranty...this may matter depending on how much disposable income one has.

While we're on the subject of cell phones, I'm looking for a portable cell phone signal jammer. Is there a place in the U.S. where I can find one?

I think they're illegal here, so you won't find one for sale at Radio Shack.

Why would you do that?

For similar reasons why many churches and theaters use them.

Get more calcium.

Oh, not that kind of cell signaling? My bad.

Cell phone jammers are illegal in the US and many other countries because they willfully interfere with a legitimately licensed radio device. In the case of phones, they could disrupt an emergency call, and anyone who works for a phone company can tell you that opens up a really big can of liability.

If someone's being a nuisance, you're better off publicly humiliating them for being a lunkhead than merely ending their call. They're more likely to learn a lesson that way anyways.

Cell phone boosters...now that's interesting. I'm kind of curious how they work, since interference and timing can be major issues TDMA-type networks.

I have a hard time believing that the cell jammer thing would be difficult to fabricate.

Anyway, I think the best option is to get a land line. After all, a number of studies have shown that cell phones are not exactly good for you to use a lot. Strengthening the signal would make it worse to be around.

Depends, does your company use 1 type of phone universally. If so get them to negotiate a contract with your provider. The "booster" needs to be the same as the signal type of your phone "gsm" == gsm, cdma=cdma etc.

When I negotiated for 100 cell phones for the company I work for they gladly installed repeaters throughout the building to ensure coverage :)

Last I went to the theatre (whether it be for a musical, opera, or a movie) phones still went off...

As to church...I don't go.

Cell phone jammers are illegal in the US.

Cell phone jammers are illegal in the US.Yeah? And so's radar-detectors in some states. And so is speeding on the freeway. And so is spitting on the sidewalk. Or watering lawns during the day. And wearing high-heels in Carmel. Or bathing two babies in the same tub. Or giving liquor to a moose in Alaska. Or peeling an orange in your hotel room. Or frying gravy... etc...

BTW - in Los Angeles, a man is legally entitled to beat his wife with a leather belt or strap, but the belt can't be wider than 2 inches, unless he has his wife's consent to beat her with a wider strap
