BMX - What do you guys think?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello. I'm not a normal subscriber to the BMX forum. Just wondering what the BMXers thought of the fixed-gear-freestylers. Check this out (http://www.vimeo.com/1005126).

Eh. not my thing but to each is there own. Looks awkward...
It's like using a screwdriver to pound nails.
But really, who cares. Let people ride what they like.
It just bugs me when they (MTBers as well) do tricks that BMXers invented 20yrs ago & surpassed 15 years ago then call it progression.

I think its pretty neat, maybe not the most efficient way, but we all like to ride and thats just their style. I would like to see more.

It's alright, but it's road bikes doing our shtuff. Not cool. The hop down the stairs was pretty cool for skinny wheels though.

That was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. Those must be some strong bikes to take that impact.

I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole vid. It's cool that they can pull those tricks and all, but if they were on a bmx, I would have thought I was watching a vid from the 80's.

if thats their style, then let em ride
that was pretty dope. sometimes even those "easier" tricks are kinda hard to learn on a bmx bike, and i cant imagin how hard it would be to learn it on a fixed gear. thats so sick.

Those bikes aren't designed for that at all. The geometry, the strength of the frames and forks, the wheels. I've seen videos of forks snapping and frames being bent and I just can't stand it especially when it's a nice track frame designed to be ridden fast on the street or in the velodrome.

Obviously, otherwise everyone would be doin it.
