General Cycling Discussion - need some ideas.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
writting up a list of what's going to be in the rider's packets for the tri state trails tour comning up next may.
so far i have: siouxland cyclist club news letter, siouxland cyclist club membership application, t-shirt, if the rider pays for one, RIDE RIGHT info., & a map of the route.
anyone have any other suggestions that are cycling related that can go in the riders packets?
thanks.
A few of the rides that I've been on that bicycle clubs put on in Oregon have had an energy bar in the packet and one club gave out water bottles with chamois cream and a tire patch kit inside.

Safety pins for the issued number? Also, how about a couple of peppermint candies; got some in a ride bag once and thought it was a great idea; a nice refreshing treat.
a custom race post card and/or certificate... nice to show to friends and family members, even if you didn't win.. ;)
a patch kit would be nice... if they would pay, an extra tube would be better..
A cycling or baseball cap..
An official race jersey.. if they will pay extra for it.
Sunscreen is nice, perhaps even get some companies to send you little trial sizes. I've seen Chamois creme, energy bars, magazine subscription cards...etc etc.

An 'I rode the Tri State Trails Tour' sticker. I've been to a few hot rod shows, and they always have either a window sticker or a little plaque to sticj on your dash. Just a little 1x3 inch or so two color sticker to put on your frame.
