well the racing forum has the "pics of you suffering in a race" thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=280314), so let's start our own version of that.

got any pics of you suffering and/or enjoying a brevet? share!

i'll start. here i am rolling into the control at 300km into a 400k (http://cyclinginseattle.blogspot.com/2008/05/seattle-randos-may-2008-400k-three-pass.html) - very happy!

then only a few minutes later, sun-burned and tired:

but even though i looked like i wanted to give up, i was "only" 100km from the finish, and luckily i completed it - even if i felt like throwing in the towel. sometimes not carrying a cell phone has its advantages!

Near the end of this year's 400K, I dozed off for a few minutes on the wet sidewalk outside a 7-11. We had been riding through intermittent hard, cold rain from dusk until just a bit before dawn. So there was a fair amount of suffering involved. At the same time, it's amazing how comfortable wet concrete can be, so the brevet was not without enjoyment :)

Closed store nearing the last control on this year's 300k. It was February and it was really cold.

me shortly after DNFing a 600k last weekend. that pump i'm holding doomed the ride with < 100k to go: it broke while fixing a flat! of all things...

Machka, Nice web sites! I am curious what reflective material you use? In the pictures it looks super brilliant.
