Well I finally got my bike back from my derailure in spoke problem I had. The LBS put the used deore on it and I'll have to say, even for it being used, its amazing compared to the lower end crap the bike came with. The only problem I had was ghost shifting, but I belive I just fixed the problem. Compared to my old stuff the deore is like a silk cloth. Shifts fast and a lot smoother than my old crap. A lot smaller profile and better look also..
Couldnt test the alivio FD against my "series of numbers" shimano derailure. My crank is to jacked up to shift. I imagine it wont be much better as its just alivio.

anyways. I rode 4.75 miles of Thompson trail today (1 lap) in 27 minutes.
I ride with this one guy and he is so freakin fast. I always have to push myself to my max to stay with him, but I do. We ran a 27, 28, and then he ran another 28(i was talking and he just left, lol was bummed.)
My old record for speed was a 30.7 run. Im quite proud of my self that I was able to hang with the fast guys. I'm really looking forward to getting the weak links of my bike fixed and getting back into the races.

I think Shimano doesn't really put that much thought into their lower end stuff like Alivio.
Keep it up and get that time down a little more =]

Man I'm trying for a 25, but I tell you it's hard as crap just to get a 27.
We were flying, and I was dying... atleast it felt like it lol.

I would love to build U a bike Cheeto. You'd flip over x.9/XT stuff on a light plush ride.

Keep it up man.

I probably Will lol.
I've decided to go with a full deore drive train for this bike. My aim is to upgrade to something like a Hi-fi later.
They are very popular around here.
