So I'm thinking of stepping up and getting a generator driven light system for my everyday riding bike. I really like what I've read about the Supernova E3 headlight, and it makes sense to me that I'd get a tail light tied into the same system. I can't really find much in the way of opinions on the E3 tail light, except that it does not have a flashing mode (boo). Also (dumb question) is it red or not? None of the pictures or descriptions I find make that as clear as I'd like.

So while I like what I hear about the headlight, I'm open to suggestions on a generator compatible tail light. I'd want something compatible with the E3 headlight, and ideally something with multiple modes (at least a solid and a flashing). Is there such a product on the market, without going to the battery powered Dinotte that everyone seems to love so much? It is the battery pack, and needing to remember to charge that I'm trying to get away from. I'd love to hear about your favorite stuff.

The E3 tail light is red, and it's bright enough that it's not legal in Germany for what that's worth. I'm on the same page as you regarding the tail light and the lack of a flashing mode but for the lack of batteries and the compact size of it I feel like I can live with that (plus it's damn bright and I'm pretty sure I'm getting noticed out there). The headlight is excellent.

Thanks for the mini-review. I may just live without flashing mode, for exactly the reasons you described.
