Bicycle Mechanics - Tube 19-26, tire 700-28C: Bad Mistake???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I put a Nashbar road tube 700 by 19-26 in a Gatorskin 700 by 28C. Is this a disaster waiting to happen (ten miles from home)? Sheldon Brown doesn't mention fudging tire/tube sizes. All advice appreciated because it is a great day here to go for a ride!

I ride 23c tubes in my 28's on my cross bike. Reason is I don't have any long stem 28 tubes. Works just fine
Nitropowered, thanks for the good news!

Same as Nitro here and no problem yet, after 1500 km. My 28 mm Conti are really 26 mm when measured with a caliper. Anyway, only inconveniency is tires that might lose their air a little faster than with bigger tubes.
I've often run 32 or 38mm tubes in my 42 tires without any adverse effect.
