I guess I just don't know how to ask the right people. We do the same thing at the alternative school I teach at, albeit on a much smaller scale. As a community service project, I train a half dozen students and together we refurbish used (donated, collected) bicycles. The project is a semester long endeavor ending with the students donating the bikes to various county service agencies, mostly the children's and homeless shelter. It's fun and the kids learn a lot about bikes. We should have about two dozen bikes ready by the weeks end.
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
