If you check the Downtube thread, I believe you will find someone that did that very mod. Perhaps it was a FS model from a different year.

Apparently a different model because now the dropouts seems to be an add-on or something.

Well I will go throug the 68 post to see if I find something.

Thanks

Here's mine I did a few years back with Nexus 8spd, Singulator, and Schlumpf Drive.. this is an 05 FS with horizontal drops.. the newer derailleur equipped bikes are more vertical.. the 09 Sturmey 8spd hub FS has horizontal drops... I imagine it wouldn't make much difference because you would probably want to use something like a Singulator to compensate for chain tension variance when the rear suspension is active..

But I realised that was fine for converting, but the model I wants to buy has this new type of dropout like semi-vertical add-on.

http://www.sheldonbrown.com/singlespeed.html

Sheldon brown says that the one totally horizontal is not a dropout, and that's the one on the 8FSH.

My project is to buy this 8FS 2008 now 299$ and then upgrade later to nexus 8 SPD.

Do you thing it is possible?, I think I would need a chain tensioner or something.

Thanks
