Foo - Lodi's mission, part deux...

So, I decided about five minutes ago that i'm driving to Nova Scotia next week. I'll stop in portland maine, and niagra falls of course. But has anyone been to nova scotia that can give me a few tips on whats good to see and all? Plus, I have no reservations, i'm just gonna drive till I find a hotel. I'll bring a tent just in case, so anyone that might know good sleeping arrangments and such, any help would be greatly appreciated......:commute:

Knives and watches are inexpensive......as for the big ticket items, I don't like to refer to it as " blowing money" rather, I like to refer to it as " being spontaneous". Yes, spontaneous is the word we're looking for....:thumb:

I was originally just gonna go to maine, but then I googled mapped it, and was like" huh, NS aint so far..aaahh, what the hell, I'm going. I have no idea why, i'm broke, but screw it, it sounds like a good time...

That's cool as hell. Please Chris, wh0re your camera and bring back pictures. I'm renting a d60(some ******* rented the d80 for a month in the last day before i could reserve it) and will be taking tons of photos.

oh, hell ya......plenty of pics. I'll do an addition to the blog I had going for the cross country thing, even if i'm only gonna be gone a week and a half

I don't need one by land or sea, only air. But one of my friends pointed out that gas is sold by the liter there, and I have to check the prices, because it may be way to expensive to drive it. I might have to put this on hold, we'll see

I might have to put this on hold, we'll seeLooks like it's running about $1.30-1.40/L (CAN$ and US$ are nearly even at this point) in Ontario and Nova Scotia, so you're looking at something like $4.85-5.29 per gallon. Hell, it's $4.29 here, so it's not that big a jump. :)

Whatever you do, DON'T cross at the Queenston-Lewiston bridge! The wait there is always way longer than at the Rainbow Bridge (right at the Falls) or the Peace Bridge (Buffalo-Fort Erie).

Halifax is a great starting point - the harbourfront is nice this time of year, and you're sure to find some cool pubs with great live music. Hope you like squid-jiggin' fiddle tunes :D
Lunenberg and Mahone Bay are quintessential "quaint maritime villages" - very picturesque. Peggy's Cove is probably the most visited spot, but despite that, it's not terribly overrun with tourists.

All of the above are pretty close to one another, but if you've got more time (and can afford the gas), make the trip to the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. It's wicked-beautiful - one of the world's most scenic highways. I've only driven it in a car, but I'd love to go back with either my road bike or my motorcycle.

If humungous tides - like over fifty feet between high and low - are your thing, check out the Bay of Fundy near its ends (like around Wolfville and Windsor).

Eat lots of seafood (hopefully lobster's in season!).
