Figured since this is a pretty damn big site to ask up if anyone has spent some time in Zermatt, Switzerland.

Wife and I are heading there in a few weeks and have 3 days there as a portion of our 15-day trip over the pond.

We've got a few things planned...some hiking (http://www.zermatt.ch/e/bergerlebnis/wanderwege/30.html) and trips up some cable cars (http://bergbahnen.zermatt.ch/e/peaks/kleinmatterhorn.html), but other than that not much. Don't want to kill ourselves though, since this will be the 'get away and wind down from our busy lives' portion of the trip. (London and Paris will be a bit more busy for us I'm sure).

So, those that have been to Zermatt...

What else to do? Where to eat? Any place(s) with good beer? No bikes going with :(

Thanks in advance!

If there's one thing I crash better on than my mountain bike, it's skis! Not so with my wife though, MTB'ing once put her in the ICU for 3 days, skiing hasn't yet :)

I'd like to though, since I'd be able to say I skied in the Swiss Alps! There should be some glacier runs open though from what I've read.

I'd hazard a guess that someone's been there. I mean, it is a town right? :innocent:
