Mountain Biking - Giant Rainier SE question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well it is a 2001 model.Bike includes Marzocchi Bomber shocks, Shamano Deore deraileurs, Avid disc brakes, Michelin tires, Koski seat, Cat Eye,etc. Little use on it. Have these proved to be reliable ? Im new to the montain bike and on a small budget. Would it be a good buy at 250.00 . It is been rode vey little and stored inside.Thanks.

If it's your first MTB, I'd say it's a good deal. Really depends on what type of riding you will be doing. A new one with that level of components would be twice that.
After purchase, if you don't know much about working on a bike, I'd take it in to your local bike shop to have them go over the bike/tuneup.
As far as reliable, it all comes down to the parts. It's a MTB and you will be replacing parts more often than a road bike due to dirt and mud.
Good luck.
