Any races going on in the LBI area this summer? I was riding down 72 for 10 miles today and saw no less than six cyclists in full kit - there must be something going on! :)

Don't know but I'll be vacationing there next week and was hoping to find some routes other than riding up and down the island.

In that case, check out 72 - it's the only road off the island, and once you get past the rt. 9, you're pretty much set. Takes you back into the woods - very nice.

Is it legal to ride over the bridge?

We didn't. One of the local bike shops said it's legal, and people do it, but the shoulder is narrow and full of debris and that you'd be more than likely to get a flat. There was also construction going on during the week on the bridge. So I spent the week riding in a long flat straight line with no turns. :-)
