Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Right now my K2 ZED 4.0 weighs 26.3 pounds. How about yours?

My Specialized Enduro runs about 30lbs in hardcore XC form, currently I've set it up for the Whistler bike park so it's 34lbs.
My Nicolai Nucleon ST is a whopping 53lbs!!! I plan on swapping out a few parts to bring it back down to 49lbs pretty quickly (it's been down to 47lbs) but as I'm not a racer I'll deal with a couple extra pounds if it saves me some cash or is more reliable.

My DiamondBack Apex weighs 27 pounds. But it still has beefy tires and disc brake hubs, which can be switched to lighten it.

I don't know.
I don't bother to weigh my bikes.
One is light.
One is heavier.
One is even heavier.
People who obssess about the weight of their bike are amusing though.

Now now Jim, my Epic has not had any fine tuning yet. Lighter wheels and tires are to come along with a few lighter components. But the scalpel has heavier (avid mechanical) disc brakes and the Epic has avid v brakes. So there would be a greater weight diff with the same brakes. I'm gonna keep the Epic set up with v-brakes and ride it in dry conditions.
BTW, today is the first day of ownership for the Epic and since I had no babysitter for Samantha I had to attach her chariot to it and pull her at Stone mountain. It rides good and the mud tires sounded like bubba with his truck and super swamper mud tires riding down the road.
The F1000 is officially the wifes steed now. The Epic is my hardtail that morphs when needed. I cannot wait to try it on some single track...

Got your Cannondales beat, I have a 40 pound trailbike, a 45 pound Slalom Rig and will soon hopefully have a 50 pound DH race bike coming. You don't want to know the weight of my XC bike.
Daaaaaang... it's alright to ride a heavy bike as long as you've got the strength to push it just as fast as the guys with light bikes :D
My Trek 4300 is supposed to weigh 32lbs, probably closer to 29 lbs now with some upgrades. My Norco Sasquatch is probably around 34-35lbs. Pretty bad for to hardtails.
I got a Cannondale F-900 and I could prolly throw it about a block if I really wanted too. Not sure of the exact weight but Its rediculously light as with all Connondales.
Clearly Cannondale reigns supreme :o
They dont get it Jim only the real men know the truth.

And oh yea......cannondale sucks.
My bike ownership experience has led me through Diamodback, Specialized, GT, Proflex, Trek, K2, and Cannondale.
I must say that Cannondale and Specialized has been the most dependable. I experienced frame damage and quality issues with almost all the others including...Cracked welds, broken pivots, cable tabs breaking off, bottle cage inserts popping out, brake mounting tabs breaking, and the worst offense was when my Trek 7000 had a tube separate completely while riding one time where it mated with the bottom bracket and my bike lterally broke in half.
"Crack and fails" and the "speckledeyes" brand bikes rule the roost.
Sirspinsalot.

Now Klein, no name calling!
I've always been a defender of Cannondales. I think the "crack and fail" nickname is undeserved. I don't think their frames fail any more than any other manufacturer's. I do think that because they are so popular, they have a lot of bikes in the market. I also know that every snapped frame we got in the shop was due to the rider riding the bike beyond it's intended capabilities. "You want to warranty the frame b/c it broke when you dropped off the 5' loading dock?" DUH!!!!!!
After working with them for a number of years, I still believe in their product. I'm glad that they are coming out of the whole MX/Bankruptcy debacle. However, with that said, I don't think they are the supreme leader of bikes in the industry.

Just needed to post a blurb about the Epic.
The first singletrack ride on this bike and I rode it like I was on it when I emerged from the womb!
Three words... OH MY GOD!
It's only a matter of time before Cannondale builds a bike around the "brain" technology.. and then it's ON!

Ya know I worked in industrial automation systems for years and this revolutionary brain technology is actually old technology fitted to a bike.
Inertia sensing valves are old news and I am amazed it has not appeared before now on mountain bikes.
It is actually a very simple hydraulic circuit.

With the way they are constantly trying to progress things (not always for the best) I am surprised they didn't do it earlier.

Now there's a biker who has the right priorities he heh.
I XC raced last fall on my 38 lb Bullit, now I'm on a 25ish lb Yeti ASR. To be honest, the only way I can tell any difference is the Bullit took the bumps smoother. 12 lb's of difference or so, I could cut back on the snacks for a couple weeks and lose that much weight off my gut.
Maybe Cannondale will get the rights or something soon. I'm sure they've got something in the works.
Yeti ARC is 21 lbs., Homegrown converted to SS is 20.2 lbs. Can't wait to see how ridiculous my Schwinn Panther MTB buildup is going to be.
Weight concerns me not; as others have mentioned, it's the rider that makes the difference, not the bike. I just like knowing because I'm a weenie (and because that seems to be the first question people in the shop ask me).
Weight matters alot when you're a small guy like me. I don't weigh much, so its harder for me to manuever/bunnyhop/jump a big bike.
Only with pedals added. 16.9 LBS. Felt F15
<---132 lbs. soaking wet here. Riding in IL and WI, there's not much beyond fast paced XC so I've never really had any issues with bike weight.
A 16.9 lb. MTB?! Interesting...
Maybe Cannondale will get the rights or something soon. I'm sure they've got something in the works.
Oh the mountain bike?? What are they?? It's too heavy to weight.
