Classic & Vintage - ebay feedback changes

Seems like the new feedback changes have slowed down the sellers. is it just me or is there nothing interesting in the vintage bike market. Ebay messed with their feedback, and many high volume sellers number went down (mine went up to 100% though). I am selling a few things right now, and I'm wondering how the buyers will treat me. All that pent-up anger over not being able to leave negative feedback for fear of being slam-hounded. Maybe we should set up an anti-ebay vintage part auction site? I just think they are dumb. What do you think?

I think Ebay could care less what you,me or any other non mega seller thinks!
They are committed to the the mega seller platform and will do what ever it(in their feeble minds) takes to become Amazon. If in the process they destroy the backbone of their enterprise and slowly shoot off every one of their appendages it matters not to the corporate heads as long as they reap their inflated salaries and unearned bonuses.

I think what they did had a bit of validity to it. Most sellers would not post feedback until receiving it from the buyer. So a legitimate negative feedback often lead to a tit-for-tat situation. I could care less as I was never a seller, but for someone doing both, it affects your overall number.

I think it strengthens the system. Other than not paying, how can a buyer get a negative?

I think you read to much into what they're doing. They're addressing a fault in the system, retaliatory feedback. Any prudent buyer is going to look closely at a sellers feedback. One or two negatives isn't a deal killer, but a pattern of negatives might be an indicator of something.

If you were or had been you would understand the depths of deception unscrupulous bidders will go to in the scamming of legitimate sellers!

Many times buyers manipulate the system to receive items and then force a refund for phony reasons.
Buyers use feedback as a "hostage" tool to hammer sellers into refunds, price reductions and other actions.
The changes Ebay has implemented only serve to tie sellers hands against these actions and remove honest spotlighting of dishonest bidders!

Ebay has gone so as to announce that negative feedback left on a seller, even if proven false will not be removed. They say that if investigated and found feedback incorrect they will remove that comment but if you read the fine print the exception become the rule and there are no instances where feedback will be removed!
The new feedback system is now totally one sided as sellers can no longer leave negative feedback even if the bidder does not pay!!!!
Thus other unsuspecting sellers are now wide open to harassment, fraud and outright theft of theit products and services!
