I have two more minor surgeries to do this year, both to remove moles on my left leg. So it appears I will be off the bike for approximately a month. I have to have them done before early October. So my choice is either early August, or right after HHH (ie: last week in August and early September. This means I will either miss the HHH, or the Cotton Patch Classic and likely Autumn in Bonham as well. Between the heat and the long drive with gas prices what they are, I'm thinking I could get to both of the later rides for the same cost and get more miles in over all, and with a bit cooler weather to boot!

When I saw the title, I thought maybe "Miss HHH" was the beauty pageant....

You are already looking at it as a beating(heat,gas, lodging), so you might not enjoy it anyway. Take a year off and come back in '09 ready to tackle the 100. Judging from your reviews, you seem to enjoy CPC and Autumn anyway, so enjoy them :)

skip HHH;

you can pick any weekend this summer, pedal from your driveway a hunnert miles and get heat stroke for free.

plus you don't have to worry about 8 trillion newbs and racer-wannabe's knocking you down.

Skip the HHH this year, and do it when you don't have anything else to think about.

Hotter than hell started the middle of last week, it will last until, oh, mid November when fall arrives and
morphs into winter an hour later.
I'd skip the mayhem in wichita falls and do CPC and Autumn in bonham
