Starting a new thread, ease of posting pics!:D
My version of the ride. Well Gina and I started off by cutting a couple of miles off the ride so that we could show the 2 newbie Sart girly riders the way without risk of getting lost in the bushes near Greenriver. That and Gina doens't like hills, not even the little ones!:p So the girls (Linda and Debbie, hope I'm right) headed to the coast a bit earlier than the dudes. Bunch of fast guys so I figured they would run us down by the time we reached the first regroup point at the Honda Center. Tunrs out the girly riders were kickin' butt! So later we see Tiffany riding the opposite direction as planned. She hops on then we make our way to the regroup point. Well heck, I thought we'd be run over and dropped by this point. Not the case at all. Sheesh, we had a picnic and a few karaoke songs by the time the fast guys arrived. ok, not really on the karaoke!:D
So we hit the road as a group. I take the front and start riding. I'm feeling a little pressure but don't realize I'm going a bit fast, so Gina says. I look back and all the girlies are there so either I suck or they are still kickin' butt! So finally gina says I'm pushing too hard as I just thought it was the wind so I plan to back off a bit. Just then, my Buddy Lee swings around and says,"lemme help!". I thought I was doing 17 but he picks it up to 20'ish. We hop on and I take a look and see everybody so we roll with it. A couple minutes later I look back and the line is split. Oh heck, I like to ride in a group so I let the fast guys go and pull over for the regroup. At the regroup MTBLurker slaps me around a bit and says I was doing a high rate too. I didn't think I was but Gina agrees. Wasn't my intentions so I apologize to those that agree with them. I planned a group ride so we regroup then I try to find a pace that is good for everybody. But no Tiffany!.......She said she had plans to get home early so we figured she pulled off at her exit on Warner. How she slipped everyone's eye, we're still trying to figure tha one out!:twitchy:
So we continue to the beach at a good rate. I'm hoping the gilry riders can hang but I figured they would drop off somewhere near the coast where we wouldn't have to worry too much. BOY WAS I WRONG! These gilrs kicked major butt today and stuck on the entire way. Cool, so I figure they would fall off on the return. BOY WAS I WRONG AGAIN! Determination and authority I saw in their pedals. They hung the entire time. Not only that but we ended up passing about 3 of the speed demons that had left us behind earlier.:D...One of the gals may even have shouted some words to one of them as we rode by!:innocent:
We end up finishing the ride as a big group which was great! Nice to see some of the familiar faces and some new. Thanks to LewisAClark for setting it up. Thanks to all that showed and rode! Thanks to Herb,MarkAj and friends (Girly riders) for riding. Now you can spread the word on how nice the SART is to ride. Maybe a bigger group next time!:D
Just a note, you femile riders have some new Chicks to contend with! Well not new, but up and coming riders. They rode so strong today, I was shocked and happy for them. They do plan to return for more rides on the SART (their words), Great job gals, and you guys, uhh,.... yeah you too!:D
